Power Steering Upgrade

Early Bronco

Late Model

 Wild Horses Kit

The Wild Horses kit will allow the home builder to order components individually or in several kit forms: with or without power steering box, with or without an adjustable drag link for those who wish not to cut their stock unit, and with or without the double groove pulleys. There is also an optional heavy-duty power steering pump that can be ordered. (Many times, the stock drag link is worn out and now is a good time to replace it.) Obviously, the more options that are added, the more the addition goes up in dollars.

Complete Wild Horses kit comes with all bracketry, hardware, standard pump, hoses and F-150 steering box. Again, it's a 2WD version. Bracket is first bolted into place and then welded. Steering box attaches to bracket, while holes in bracket are for attaching to frame.

The kit has a U-joint coupler that comes with one end splined to fit over the input shaft of the steering box, while the other end fits over the stock manual steering shaft. This end is trimmed for fitment and then cut to accept a new keyway. A track bar drop bracket (installed when a vehicle is lifted from its stock height) is provided. Should your Bronco already be lifted, you may have this bracket in place. If not, install it, as it's necessary to eliminate any bump steer you may encounter.
